Six downtown churches, led by South Street Christian Church, will be hosting a COVID-19 Vaccination event on Thursday, June 10, 2021, from 10:00am to 1:00pm. The vaccination event will be held at South Street Christian Church in the Fellowship Hall on the lower level at 500 South Avenue. Please enter on the south side of the building. Other supporting churches include St. Agnes Catholic Church, First Baptist Church, Grace United Methodist Church, the Downtown Church, and Southside Baptist Church.
Citizens wishing to receive a COVID-19 vaccine can log into https://bit.ly/3w37jee to schedule an appointment to receive the shot. At that time, each person can make a choice between receiving the Pfizer vaccine, which requires a second shot three weeks later and the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which only requires one shot. There is no charge to the individual regardless of the choice of vaccine. The Pfizer vaccine is the only one approved for 12- to 17-year-olds with parental consent.
The vaccines and personnel are furnished by the Jordan Valley Community Health Center in partnership with the Greene County Health Department, Greene County Medical Society, the City of Springfield, and the United Way of the Ozarks’ Give5 program.
A second event is scheduled for Thursday, July 1, from 11am to 1:00pm for first or second shots.
