The winter homeless count is scheduled for Thursday, January 29. During the winter months, conditions are especially harsh for those who have to spend extended periods outside.
Information gathered from the count will give Springfield valuable information about our homeless population that
will determine the amount of federal funding we receive.
Below is a list of items you can donate to be distributed to the unsheltered homeless in our community. Please bring donated items by Sunday, January 25. A box in which to place donated items is in the narthex.
Needed items include the following:
$5 gift cards from Dollar General
Used or new 1- or 2-person tents, cold weather sleeping bags
Bicycles (must be in excellent working condition)
3.5” mini flashlights
Backpacks or small suitcases with rollers
Ponchos
Hand/foot warmers, thermal gloves and socks
